View ArticlePlease clarify why the ADV7627 requires HDCP license
I received an inquiry from a customer regarding the ADV7627: I was told for a different device (DP to HDMI chip) that I do not need an HDCP license to purchase the part even though the part has HDCP...

Hi Tarzan,The ADP2164 tracking was tested in lab with ADP2164 eval board, 600KHZ and 1.2MHZ, Vin=5V, Vmaster=3.3V, the rising time for the master voltage = 8ms, Vslave=1.2V, Rtop=10k@1%, Rbot=10k@1%,...

It's been awhile since I studied the details, but basically if your product is going to play in an HDCP protected system, you need a license. Why would he think that he doesn't need a license? If this...
View ArticleRe: Please clarify why the ADV7627 requires HDCP license
There is no non-HDCP version of the part. The part has HDCP keys in it, so you need to be an HDCP adopter to buy it. That's our obligation under the license. ADV7627 *can* be used as a pass through...

Dave, Good explanation, which makes sense. Using that logic, I'm curious about the 7623, which I've used in past projects. It can't extract the video, although internally it obviously decrypts it to...

What I noticed is that the filter coefficients are programmed with ad9361_set_rx/tx_fir_config(). When reading these coefficients they have the incorrect value. Any idea? Thanks,Yaniv
View ArticleRe: Please clarify why the ADV7627 requires HDCP license
Hi Chris, The presence of keys that can be used to decrypt is enough to require a license. It's the possession of the keys that matters-- not what the device can do. The ADV7623 actually does come in...

1. Yes, I think so. I thought it might be better to set up the sample rate before starting the transmission. NEVADAMARK: that is correct, but I don't think that you need a 500ms delay for every SPI...
